Coding Grace are a group of developers based in Ireland who love to code and do other geeky and not necessarily crafty activities. Some of us code full-time, or just for fun (or both). We have people who are part of other technical user groups such as Dublin ALT.NET, GameCraft, Python Ireland, Ruby Ireland and more…

We provide female-friendly workshops and events in an environment for developers and aspiring developers mentored by diverse instructors from the industry.

Where many events tend to have more males than females, we aim to encourage many females to come along to our workshops and learn to code and more. We also encourage any females who want to mentor technical material to help out, it’s not that scary after all.

It doesn’t matter if you are learning or mentoring, gaining confidence to ask questions, helping others, which results in everyone learning from each other gives females in this field the encouragement to further their careers, attend technical conferences, or even give a technical talk at one.

We aim to provide a support network for people from all backgrounds and hope our outreach will help bring those who are interested in code development together and learn from one another.

Customer Analytics is about using data to build better products, to provide an excellent customer experience and to grow your business. It’s about making high quality decisions - knowing when to double down or knowing when it’s time to course-correct.

Whether you're a startup founder, an industry professional or a research academic, it is the key to finding the right customers, validating whether a problem is real, deciding what to build and how to monetize it. The Customer Analytics Dublin Meetup brings together industry and academic experts that focus their efforts on the analysis and understanding of customer behaviour on different channels (web, transactional, CRM, etc) in order to improve customer experience, retention and monetization.

At each event we host 2 to 3 key speakers to share their experience and knowledge on one or more of the following topics:

  • Predictive customer analytics
  • Customer understanding, retention and churn
  • Web analytics
  • Big data & machine learning
  • Customer clustering & segmentation
  • Customer data monetisation and data leverage
  • Marketing & attribution models

The Customer Analytics Meetup take place in Dublin City Centre every 1 / 2 months. Join us to hear from some inspiring speakers, learn how Customer Analytics makes an impact and meet with like minded people. There will be some snacks, drinks and plenty of opportunity for networking.

Cello Fortress

Joost Van Dongen

Cello Fortress is a unique combination of a game and a live music performance. A cellist defends a fortress by improvising on his cello. Melodies control the guns, dissonant notes activate the flamethrowers. Players from the audience use game controllers to steer their tanks and attack the fortress. The cellist plays live music, while at the same time controlling the game to be a fun challenge for the players. Cello Fortress is an innovative experiment that blends concert and game.

Joost van Dongen is known for his previous game Proun, and as lead programmer and co-founder of Ronimo Games, the studio behind the hit indie games Awesomenauts, Swords & Soldiers and De Blob. Joost regularly writes about creating games on his development blog.

Concern Worldwide and MSF Ireland are part of a global movement to build digital maps of vulnerable and remote areas around the world. We are looking for you to help and the digital maps you'll create will support NGOs and community groups working in unmapped areas.

Tech for Good Dublin is a group that brings together people who are enthusiastic about using technology for positive impact. We believe that digital technology is a powerful tool that can be harnessed to tackle social and environmental challenges and bring about change. We invite you to join our group and get ideas and inspiration from guest speakers, take part in discussions and to meet others with similar interests. Our events encourage conversations between those who want to address a social problem and those keen to share ideas about digital solutions. Events are free and open to all. We welcome techies and non-techies, non-profit sector worker and volunteers, activists, campaigners, social entrepreneurs and everyone enthusiastic about TechForGood. This group is co-ordinated on a voluntary basis by Máirin Murray (Digital Doddle) and Ellen Ward (Concern Worldwide). About Silver Branch

In Irish mythology, a Silver Branch was used as a passport to gain access to the otherworld, and Silver Branch perception refers to a new way of viewing the world. We believe technology can be used in the same ways: to create stories and experiences that provide a uniquely new perspective.

Silver Branch is led by Camille Donegan and Sabina Bonnici, who together provide specialised services in story technology, using VR, AR, and online platforms as powerful tools for storytelling and marketing.

Their combined experience includes work in theatre, film, computer science, video production, digital strategy, website production, marketing, social media, interactive performances, and installations.

The Silver Branch team have created 360 & VR experiences and demonstrations for companies including Pluto, Congregation, Number Twenty Two Theatre Club, The Mill House Slane, Xwerx, and vStream, and are currently developing a heritage VR & AR experience. They work collaboratively with graphic/audio designers, developers, 3D modellers, film-makers and theatre-makers depending on the project.
